Jean Carlos Diaz is a gay, Puerto Rican speaker, storyteller, and leader in the Twin Cities. He serves as Director of Campus Ministry at Neon / Wesley Foundation at the University of Minnesota. Neon is a student group committed to social justice (for people and the planet) and spirituality (shaped by Jesus and joy).     • Shuttle with Free Parking?

      • Park at and take the shuttle from the Collegiate United Methodist Church parking lot (2622 Lincoln Way). ANY attendees are welcome to park in the lot and ride the shuttle. We appreciate the use of Collegiate Methodist's bus for this shuttle service!

    • Other Parking Options

      • Park in the MU parking ramp (paid), the East Campus Parking Deck (free on weekends), or on surrounding streets.

    • Take Public Transit via CyRide

  • Yes! Pride Sunday will be held on the second floor of the Memorial Union. The second floor is accessible from the parking ramp, and those who need accessible entrance can be dropped off at the north entrance of the MU near the Four Seasons Fountain. Volunteers will be available to help direct you to the Great Hall. Click here for building maps.

  • Yes! The link to watch online will be available closer to October 12. Because we want to protect the privacy of attendees, the area on camera will be restricted to the stage.

  • This is an interfaith event with opportunities for experiencing many kinds of religious/spiritual practice. We hope to create a space where all can bring their beliefs and practices (or none at all!) and be affirmed and celebrated.

  • We will collect an offering in support of Ames Pride.

  • Multiple stations for participation from different religious traditions will be offered, including communion offered by Christian ministers.

  • It's hard for us to imagine church without coffee and snacks! We will have coffee, lemonade, and dessert bars to enjoy together after the program.

  • We will have an all-ages space to the back of the room with different seating options, fidgets, and other tools and toys to help anyone with sensory needs feel more comfortable.
